Masaryk University, located in Brno, is the second-largest public university in the Czech Republic and the leading higher education institution in Moravia. At present it comprises ten faculties with more than 200 departments, institutes and clinics. It is a member of the Compostela Group and the Utrecht Network. Founded in 1919 in Brno as the second Czech university, it now has 35,115 students. Since 1922, over 171,000 students have graduated from the university.
